About Ms. Ray
Colorado native Peyton Ray is a dynamic solo, chamber, and orchestral flutist. Ms. Ray is the founder of Ilinx [il-links], a Seattle-based wind quintet hailed for its adventurous programming, juxtaposing classic works alongside boundary-pushing new commissions. Ilinx is a frequent performer with Seattle’s Leonore Chamber Orchestra. Ilinx is a regular guest on the Allen Library First Wednesday Concert Series at the University of Washington. Ms. Ray serves as principal flutist of both the Leonore Chamber Orchestra and the University of Washington Symphony Orchestra. She also performs with the University of Washington Wind Ensemble and Orquesta Northwest.
During the summer months, Ms. Ray has been a featured performer at the Sewanee Summer Music Festival (TN), ARIA International Summer Academy (MA), and at the National Flute Association’s annual conferences. Ms. Ray has worked in masterclasses with over twenty of the most renowned flutists from around the world.
Ms. Ray is completing her Bachelor of Music degree in flute performance, where she studies with Professor Donna Shin. She has also completed her minor studies in Entrepreneurship at the University of Washington. With these studies, Ms. Ray aims to merge her artistry with innovative leadership to drive forward impactful advocacy for the role of the arts in society. Outside of her studies, Ms. Ray is Programs Assistant for the Seattle Chamber Music Society, a renowned organization committed to presenting world-class chamber music performances and fostering community engagement through educational programming.
